This semester course focused on regional and world issues such as nuclear weapons, rape as a mean of war, human trafficking, and terrorism. I took this course because being global aware of what is going on around the world is important. Dr. Washington had a discussion base course where we discuss topics like "Is politics or economics more important?" What I learned is that both is important and the analytical skills I learned has allowed to better understand Covid-19 as we see the effects of globalization and interdependence. I chose to mention this course because as a freshman I was trying to figure out what I wanted to do in my life and when I found out that rape as mean of war was use to undermine cultures and make the enemy more vulnerable I realized I wanted to make a difference. Global issues are global because it affects all continents, such as how developing countries need the international community more than ever with the spread of Covid-19, but the lack of advancement in a medicine and the instability that the virus has cause will have a negative effect on all nations. I provided the link to my final project which focuses on Haiti's agriculture, This course allowed me to focus on what I was interested in and learn about issues many lack the knowledge of. Every story deserves to be heard. https://youtu.be/LTZXBXsu5v0
